Radon can impact any property, public or private. Due to increased awareness regarding the dangers of radon gas and more comprehensive Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) programs, school districts all over America are better focused on radon hazards and committed to maintaining optimal indoor air quality to protect the health and safety of  both students and staff members.

The EPA recommends radon testing as an ongoing component of any effective IAQ initiative.  If radon gas is present and exceeds the EPA threshold for safety (less than 4 pico curies per liter), radon mitigation is necessary.

A nationwide survey of radon levels in schools estimates that nearly one in five has at least one schoolroom with a short-term radon level above 4 pCi/L – the level at which EPA recommends that schools take action to reduce the level. EPA estimates that more than seventy thousand (70,000) schoolrooms in use today have high short-term radon levels.

We are a leading Illinois Radon Mitigation Company, commercially licensed to provide radon mitigation services for schools and campuses in the state. We have decades of radon mitigation experience including work performed for a number of school districts in Northern Illinois.

Concerned parents and teachers – reach out to school officials to determine if you or your children are at risk.
